Open Gov Week 2026

Between 18 and 22 May, the Open Gov Week 2026 will be celebrated. During this week, the National Open Government Network will promote a series of initiatives highlighting the role of society in building a more open government in Portugal.

18 May — Simulation of a Council of Ministers Meeting with schools
The Government Secretary-General's Education Service for Democracy (SEDE) opens the doors of Campus XXI for a session with secondary school students. In this session, participants take on the roles of Government members, including the Prime Minister, ministers and secretaries of state. Throughout the activity, they debate public policy proposals, make decisions together and engage, in an immersive way, with the workings of the heart of Portugal's executive power.
19 May — Roundtable: Transparency and the Challenges of Portugal's 1st Lobbying Act
The Agency for the Technological Reform of the State (ARTE) is organising this session, which will be streamed online. The debate will feature the participation of CADA – Commission for Access to Administrative Documents, TI-Portugal and MENAC – National Anti-Corruption Mechanism, and will be moderated by the Civil Society Associations Platform. 20 May — Workshop on Citizenship and Public Authorities
The General Secretariat of the Government and PASC are organising a participatory workshop involving various public bodies and civil society organisations, dedicated to exploring active citizenship, public participation and the relationship between citizens and institutions.
